Walking baits work, but compact prop baits like the
locally favored Brian’s Bees Prop Bee can be deadly.
A guaranteed player, brush with bait schools can be a
slam dunk. Anglers will need sunny conditions to posi-
tion fish tight to the cover. Suspended bass over tree-
tops are also classic targets.
River flats bristling with laydowns, logs, brush and
root wads offer abundant targets. Productive spots
often run dry, although Brad Knight parked on a
250-yard stretch for four days in 2015.
