Other Routine Maintenance Most other maintenance jobs on boat trailers are fairly simple. visually inspecting bunks when the boat is in the water will reveal any excessive carpet wear – a simple change if need be. the same goes for winch straps and light plugs. finally, be sure to lubricate all moving parts of the winch and hitch assembly with marine grease, which will dramati- cally extend the life of each. salty roads are often to blame for premature failure of these parts, and heavy grease pro- vides the best barrier. follow these tips, and this season you can hit the road with peace of mind and focus your worries on the fishing. lights of in the field. i have firsthand knowledge of the incredible performance of these units after i had them installed on my saltwater rig after changing stock lights three times in one season.
