FISHING EXPOSED
BEAVER LAKE — APRIL 27-30, 2017
DENIED BY
DEBRIS
April 27, 2017
The White River at the
upper end of Beaver Lake
is one of the most consis-
tent areas for catching big
bags of largemouths. This
year, however, muddy
water and a field of float-
ing debris caused by
heavy rains and rising
water levels blocked off
many anglers from reach-
ing what are traditionally
the best areas. Here,
Bryan Schmitt tries to pick
his way slowly through the
logs and limbs on the first
morning of the Beaver
Tour event.

BEHIND A VEIL
OF RAIN
April 29, 2017
He’s tough to see, but
Texas pro Jason Reyes is
there, within a wall of
pouring rain, chipping
away at a day-three limit
that would put him in
second place going into
the final day at Beaver
Lake.
The Beaver tourna-
ment was one of the
worst – in terms of
weather conditions – in
recent history on Tour, as
this and the other photos
included here showcase.
Rain, floods, storms –
Beaver Lake played every
one of Mother Nature’s
springtime tricks.
