grab a hat for autographs
and hustle out the door.
5:45 a.m. – The boat’s in
the water at Dreher Island
State Park. Media swarms
for interviews. There’s cof-
fee and donuts, but nerves
are too frayed to eat.

6 a.m. – Arrive at Dreher
Island State Park for takeoff.
There’s a full crowd.
Maneuver down to the
water’s edge to see the pros.
6:30 a.m. – After a quick
FLW morning show inter-
view and some autographs
for fans, it’s time to ready
for takeoff.
6:40 a.m. – Ask the leader
for an autograph, then
snap a selfie.

6:55 a.m. – Join in the
prayer and the anthem,
then hustle for a better
view of takeoff.
7 a.m. – Fire it up. FLW
emcee Chris Jones calls the
names. It’s go time.
7 a.m. – They’re off. Film a
short clip of the pros rac-
ing out from the marina to
share on Facebook. Now
it’s back to Columbia.
7 a.m.- 1 p.m. – Put on a
fish-catching clinic in front of
the FLW Live cameras.
7:30 a.m.- 10 a.m. –
Watch FLW Live in the hotel
until the Forrest Wood Cup
Expo begins.
10:05 a.m. – Haul the kids
to the Expo to be one of
the first 500 to receive a
voucher for a free rod-and-
reel combo.
11 a.m. – Mow down a
BBQ sandwich at the Bass
and BBQ Festival, then
drop another entry in the
box to win a Ranger boat.
12 p.m. – get autographs
from Forrest Wood and
Jimmy Houston, then jump
into a Hank Parker fishing
seminar.
1 p.m. – Finish a limit.
Show off No. 5 to the tour-
nament marshal, who
shares the image with the
world at FLWFishing.com.
1 p.m. – Hunt for deals on
the Expo floor, and buy the
same frog that the tourna-
ment leader is using.
2 p.m. – Join an FLW
member vIP tour of
Colonial Life Arena.
