College Fishing club in 2019.
T
he adrian College bass fishing
club won the title of 2019 Flw
College Fishing presented by yeti
national school of the year for its
outstanding performance throughout the
season. the award is based on points
earned by the two highest-finishing teams
from each school in conference tourna-
ments and the College Fishing open. the
bulldogs tallied 2,350 points on the back of
six top-10 finishes in northern Conference
events and the open.
“to win an award based on the whole
season – our entire body of work – is awe-
some and says a lot about our roster and
our program as a whole,” says seth borton,
head coach of the adrian College team. “to
win a tournament is great, but the national
school of the year is the most coveted
award we can achieve because it means we
had the best overall season.”
among the adrian bulldogs who compete
on the team, 15 anglers contributed to the
school’s winning point total, and no two-per-
son team was responsible for more than
one point-earning finish – a sign of a well-
rounded fishing program.
“i always tell my anglers that when you
get the opportunity, you have to be ready to
go – for the team,” borton adds. “we are
extremely fortunate to be as successful as
we have been since launching the club in
2015, and i’m going to keep challenging our
anglers: how can you help make us better,
as a team?”
