Under Armour thinks it has a winner in its CoolSwitch technology , which incorporates a coating on the inside of the garments . When it gets hot and the wearer starts sweating , the fabric begins to cool off the skin and dissipates heat away from the skin . Among the available CoolSwitch clothing : long- and short-sleeve shirts , hoodies , gloves , neck gaiters and more .
Likewise , Columbia has stepped up with its Omni-Freeze ZERO . It works on the same principle as similar climate-control clothing : You work up a sweat catching fish – or because you ’ re not catching fish – and the perspiration-activated properties of the clothing ’ s fabric kick in .
