2017 BUYER’S GUIDE ANOTHER WINNER FROM COSTA For the umpteenth consecutive time, a pair of Costa fishing sunglasses was selected as the Best Eyewear at the 2016 ICAST tackle show in Orlando. The latest winner is the Rafael. The sig- nature three-hole venting in the system alleviates lens fogging, and rubber temple tips and nose pads help keep the glasses from sliding down the wearer’s nose in sweaty weather. Four frame colors – retro tortoise (shown), matte olive teak, blackout and matte black teak – are available, as well as several colors of Costa’s popular 580 lenses (glass or polycar- bonate). The asking price ranges from $169 to $249. costadelmar.com JACK FROST-PROOF SUIT FROM FRABILL Frabill is known for its rain suits, but the company turned some heads at ICAST with its new I-Float bibs and jacket for anglers who fish in extreme winter conditions. The suit was named Best Technical Apparel by the media that attended the show. The jacket is certified by the U.S. Coast Guard as a personal flota- tion device. Jacket and bibs are waterproof and windproof with hand- warmer pockets, tough Cordura fabric at the stress points and mesh self-drainage openings that help the wearer get out of the water more quickly if he should fall overboard or be thrown from the boat. The jacket, which has a collapsible hood, sells for $299, while the bibs retail for about $249.99. Available sizes for either piece are S-3XL frabill.com DECEMBER 2016 I FLWFISHING.COM 95
