supposed to be the hot setup. I haven’t
had so much as a nudge yet.

It’s been my experience that bass don’t really go after
big mouthfuls when the water cools in the winter. Their
metabolism slows down, and they’re not nearly as
aggressive. In general, it’s best to downsize lures and
slow down your approach. Jigs, drop-shot rigs, float-
and-fly rigs – they’re all good options.
Yeah, I think you’re right. I’ll save the
big stuff until they get their appetites
for bigger baits back.
That won’t take long. For now, try
small baits and a slower, subtler
approach to catch more bass.
