for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement.” Despite all his setbacks and ques- tioning of if he could push forward, one thing Jocumsen never questioned was his ability. Deep down, Jocumsen always felt that if given the opportunity to dedicate himself solely to fishing, learning and improving in the ways of fishing in the U.S., he could succeed. It’s taken him eight years, and he’s still not where he wants to be, but he finally feels he’s headed in the right direction. “When I came here, I had goals and expectations of immediately making the Bassmaster Classic or Forrest Wood Cup,” Jocumsen says. “I thought that was totally achievable right away. I just didn’t actually realize how hard that is to do. “Looking back, it’s easy to say I’d have done things differently, but hon- estly, I wouldn’t change a thing.
