for everyone, with opportunity for each
according to ability or achievement.”
Despite all his setbacks and ques-
tioning of if he could push forward, one
thing Jocumsen never questioned was
his ability. Deep down, Jocumsen
always felt that if given the opportunity
to dedicate himself solely to fishing,
learning and improving in the ways of
fishing in the U.S., he could succeed.
It’s taken him eight years, and he’s
still not where he wants to be, but he
finally feels he’s headed in the right
direction.
“When I came here, I had goals and
expectations of immediately making
the Bassmaster Classic or Forrest
Wood Cup,” Jocumsen says. “I thought
that was totally achievable right away.
I just didn’t actually realize how hard
that is to do.
“Looking back, it’s easy to say I’d
have done things differently, but hon-
estly, I wouldn’t change a thing. I think
I’m exactly where I want to be.”
