DOUBLE HOOK STACKED LEGS The 4/0 Gamakatsu EWG double hook has a big bite. sPRO arranged the legs this way to add to the bait’s walking ability, while still providing a double tail for attraction. THE SPIT CUP The unique popping cup design on the nose spits water when the bait is twitched. Performance Advice The action of the frog is totally dependent on the angler delivering the proper cadence. Using a rod that’s too long can hamper your ability to accomplish this and wear you down. The rod should also have a heavy action with a fast tip to pro- vide sufficient backbone for horsing fish out of thick cover and launching long casts. I use a heavy-power, fast-action, 7-foot st. croix Legend Tournament Bass rod in combination with all my hollow-body frogs, and it likewise worked great with the spit shad. >> ON THE WATER HITS & MISSES + Easy to walk + Works in thick cover or open water + High-quality hooks + Casts easily + Soft, but durable collapsible body that hooks up well + Large color variety to imitate shad, bream and herring – Only one size available for now APPLICATIONS spit, pop or walk – sPRO designed its new frog to do all three. The spit shad works well for coaxing strikes around shallow grass, pads and bushes where you wouldn’t dare throw a traditional surface lure. It’s a great tool for fishing around bluegill beds or docks and retaining walls when a shad spawn is in progress. I didn’t get the opportunity to throw it around schooling fish, but my guess is the walking action is just right for them to crush it.
