boys day out

My son and I recently joined the Bass digest team for a social trip at Fortuna dam. Being a new venue for me, I jumped at the opportunity and was both excited and nervous at the same time. We started off by pitching the reeds in the river section, but conditions were tough and for the first two hours or so, I battled with not even a single bite.

We then decided to fish the deeper ledges further up the river and this proved to be a good decision as we started to get bites almost immediately. Within the next hour we had managed to land 4 nice fish ranging from 800 grams to 1.2kg which turned out to be my biggest. We continued to toil and eventually managed about 10 fish for the day. Overall it was still extremely enjoyable and a fun day out with the guys.
