Bass Digest/May, 2014

Bass Digest : What do you like about the Bass Challenge and how did you get into it?

Tristan Wood : I was just searching the internet one day and stumbled across the Bass Challenge website. I had a look and saw it was some local dams. My first tournament was at Germiston Lake and it was ice cold at a fresh -2 degrees. From there I was hooked and the rest is history.

Bass Digest : What has been your funniest moment on the water during a Bass Challenge tournament?

Tristan Wood : Off hand, Potchefstroom was fun. I was pitching some shallow reeds and managed to set into a nice 1.8kg, when all of the sudden this other guy on the water who was close to me started shouting like Iaconelli on my behalf.

Bass Digest : What craft do you fish from and why?

Tristan Wood : At the moment I make use of my monster II inflatable. You can easily fish two up and it is quick to assemble. I then also have a Tarpon 120 from Wilderness in the U.S.A. I will make use of my kayak when weed is thick and curse the trolling motor on the monster. I have a builtin live well that I have adapted in my kayak specifically for the Bass Challenge tournaments
