A Note from the Editor...
First off, Compliments of the season to all and we at Bass Digest wish everyone a prosperous and blessed new year. 2013 has come and gone like the wind and been one of the most successful fishing years I have experienced. With that said we look forward to an even better year for 2014 and kick off our New Year with a bang and another feature packed edition with features from both SA’s top Anglers.
First off we have South Africa’s Wrangler Angler for 2013, Japie Botha, as he shares his experience and knowledge with our readers in an exclusive interview. We also expand on our “spoonplugging” series and delve deeper into this fascinating aspect of targeting bass, with our International correspondent, Fran Meyers.
In addition, current Nationals champ August Lingnau shares his strategies for fishing Jerkbaits, one of his favourite techniques. Equally exciting and a first for us at Bass Digest is our brand new section called “Bassing Escapades” which is our take on a day spent with some of our countries top Anglers on our local waters.
So join us on this new adventure as we get the low down on how the top guys in our sport go about picking apart a particular venue to ensure success on the day as they share their top secrets with us. Enjoy!
