PB TIME!

A couple of us decided to Fish Waterkloof quarry on 26 Jan 2014. We started very early and did some top water till +/- 7am.

We then moved to the "wall" of the quarry and changed to very light mojo rigs. I took a long cast along the front of the trees and let her sink. No tap, No anything except my line starting to move. I picked up the slack and

striked. Fish on!!! At first not much, but then she woke up and realised what is happening . She went straight for the trees, which should not be a problem under normal circumstances, but I was fishing with 8lb Berkley Big

game on my EXO reel and EX 4 rod. I "prayed" her out of that tree and felt extremely relieved when she came out. Premature as she ducked for the next one. This lady was having NOTHING of this . I managed to get her out of at

least 3 or 4 trees before she reached open water. She stripped line off my reel several times and tested that 8lb to the fullest ! When I had her at the boat to land, I was amazed at the size of this ladies head . I netted her and as I layed her on the boat to remove the hook, it came out without even touching it . Too close for comfort. I grabbed the scale and weighed her, 2.8kg . Up my old PB by a mere 100grams, but hey, she was beautiful!
