Equipment

This is now the nuts and bolts of your fishing equipment needed to haul out those buses that Letsibogo holds. You need to understand one thing… These bass fight like Mike Tyson and they will chew your ear off if you are not prepared. So let’s break it down

Line - This is not a dam you want to be piddling around with finesse or light tackle. You want poundage!! Braided line 30lb and up, Fluoro or Mono 17lb and up. These fish fight dirty and they will wrap you up in structure faster than grease lightening. So be on your guard and be sure to start hauling bass in milliseconds.

Hooks - Now unless you are looking for the Letsibogo bass to show your their magic trick of how they straighten finesse high-carbon steel hooks in the blink of an eye, it is highly recommended that you make use of heavy gauge hooks. Don’t be shy… get packing on the 6/0 bad boys and make sure you have plenty of them.

Rods - Medium Rod? Take video footage please, as that would be very entertaining to watch and would get Bill Dance in stitches. At minimum a Medium Heavy fast action rod is a big must and that is cutting it short. You need backbone and hauling power that is going to ensure you can turn those hounds out of the structure.

Lures - Go big man! I mean like really BEEEEG!!! Xcite Baits Raptor Tail Craw, Varkenelli Customs Kirkett in 7”, Varkenelli Customs Moffat in 6”, Xcite Baits Maximus 10” Floating Worm, 3/4oz and up Jigs, Spinnerbaits, and Deep Divers. Chuck your wares into, through, over, in and on top of any and all structure you can set your eyes on and hold tight.

Letsibogo is an absolutely amazing place and I am sure it holds the majority of people’s PB’s that have fished it. The dam is teaming with wildlife and it is what we have come to expect of our majestic Africa. Look after this magnificent place when you visit there and return all fish back safely for the next PB hunter.
