2014 SEASON
After finishing the regular season second behind Western Oregon, Central Washington outscored the Wolves 16-4 in two GNAC
championship games to claim its first conference baseball title in school history.
Coach Desi Storey recorded his 500th win during the GNAC championships while wrapping-up his fourth 30-plus win season, his
second in a row.
The Wildcats were led at the plate by right fielder and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association all-American Ethan Sterkel,
who took the GNAC batting title with a .402 batting average, and Kasey Bielec who’s 39 RBI’s led the conference.
On the mound, the Wildcats leaned on GNAC Pitcher of the Year Brandon Williams. Having a conference-low 1.81 ERA, Williams had
six complete games last season while earning three shutouts. He also did not allow a home run in over 79 innings pitched.
Wildcat pitchers struck-out 320 batters, led by Williams conference-high of 89, while boasting the GNAC’s lowest ERA at 4.06. CWU
also led the GNAC in seven other pitching categories including wins, saves and runs allowed.
