Seema Banerjee-Ray
The name is Dr. Monimoy Sen, greetings and a good morrow to you! Dodo's head nearly touched the sky.
Now it is continuing.....
Grand dada Dr. Monimoy Sen lives in New Orleans with his well established 3 sons, daughter-in-laws,
and grandchildren. They are a Very happy and sophisticated family in the subdivision of the city.
In the modern nuclear family status, they are an example of exceptional. Eldest son, Shibu, is a Doctor,
middle and youngest sons are IT professionals. Among the grandchildren, his most loving friend is 4 yrs
old DoDo, the youngest grandson. One more person is including his family members, he is Chonikaka.
No body knows, even Chonikaka does not remember when he became the family member. He is the right
hand of Sree Monimoy babu, who came in USA when he just got married to a 20 years old Monidipa.
From that time, Chonikaka also accompanied them to USA. Now Chonikaka is 64 years old and Grand
dada is 75.
Three years ago, Grandma, passed away. Monimoy babu was an well known Cardiologist, and received
lots of achievement awards. He and his wife Monidipa helped needy people like his parents. So
everybody loves them.
Grand dada is very strong, he goes for jogging in early morning
with Chonikaka and then both of them take breakfast with orange juice and fresh fruits. They get busy
with their beautiful garden. That’s why they both are very active. But last 3 years when the grandma
passed away, grand dada, became very absent-minded. He kept on loosing memories. Even he doesn't like
to listen to anybody.
Family members decided to visit their old home in Dhatrigram, India.
Actually the grand dada was the only child of Zamindar Sree Vubonmoy Sen. He earned an scholarship to
study in USA. His MA and Baba got him married with a short height and very passionate girl Monidipa.
Then allowed him to study in USA along with 11 years old Choni kaka to take care of the young bride.
After Vubonmoy and Malati devi passed away, they delayed their visit to India. So, everybody accepted
the vacation plan and agreed to visit India. They were very excited after a long break.
The end of the Christmas vacation brought their departure from the United States, and once again grand
dada was shadowed by doubts. India would not be the home he had left behind, for his lovable Ma and
Baba would not be there. As they stepped down from the plane at Netaji Subhas Chandar Bose
International Airport a few evenings later the kids were filled with a mixture of excitement and
apprehension. Then they dro ?H?]?Y?[K?H?X]\?\???Y??X?H\?[??\?[YH?[?XK??]?\?X??H??X?Y]H[?\?Y?\?H?\???[??????][????^HX?YY??^H[?H?[?????^\??[?HYX[?[YKHXZY?\??[???X[?YH?\?H?XZ?H]Z?HH??\??K??^H??X?Y??[?[[?H?[???S?[YT]KH\??[??Y?[????[?\?^H?\?H?\?H\K??]?XZY??\?Y??X[?H?\?H?\?H?\???]?\?X??H\?[???Z[??H?X?][??H?Y?\?H^Z[??[H[YK]?[???\???Z?[???\?H\??\???Y[??[?YK??H^K?[?H?Y?\?H?\?H??^Z[???]?YK?[?YH?\?Y?X\??[???[???X[Z[??8?'?\?HYH?Y\^H?Y???H?[???[Y[X?\????\?HH????'B?]?\?[?H?\?\??[???]HY??Y[???]Y?^Z[??8?'H?[?^H?Y???'K????HHHHXZY?H]Y?\??[?[]???\?H\??[??8?'?]?[?H?[???'H?]H?\???\?[?Y?[?][??????H\?]Y\?[?????8?'B??[???[????H??Hx?'K??H?\?\?[?\?[???H?\?[?[??\?]Y?\?Z[?[]????H?[?Y[?[???\?H?[[N?8?'Y??]?[?H?[???]\?Z\??[???Y?[?H[YK[?H?[??X\????]??'HY?[\H[???\??8?'H????)??H??8?)???'B??H\??YY?Z[??8?'YX\?HZ?HH???\?]?H[??Z?H?\?[?H?[?X\??H][H??[?x?'K??H?X?[YH?[H[????H???\?Y[??[??\?Y???
