Digital Citizenship is a socially appropriate way of behaving and interacting on the internet, In today’s society there are a number of ethical issues in the world of technology. Responsible digital citizens will respect the common courtesies of internet communication while maintaining a high level of respect and responsibility. It is important to understand digital citizenship at a young age so as to understand and learn the correct way to use technology.
“The Internet’s not written in pencil. It’s written in pen.” - Whatever you post on the internet is permanent. Don’t share anything that you wouldn't want the world to see.
“Nothing is as private as you think.” - Don’t post anything on the internet that you feel is private. People from all over the world will have access to your information. BE CAREFUL
“Kindness counts.” - Be respectful. Just because you can’t see the person on the other side of the computer, does not mean that they are not impacted by your words.
“Digital cheating is still cheating.” - Stealing information for educational use is illegal and immoral. Just because the information is online does not mean it can be copied.
“Make this a world you want to live in.” Be creative, share your ideas, contribute to the internet in a positive manner.
