Both really enjoy the outdoor living area of their home but Steve ’ s favorite room is the den that he has dubbed his Bourbon Room . A huge wooden barn door marks its entrance . “ It ’ s pretty phenomenal ,” he says with pride . “ It includes a wet bar with a wine cooler under the counter and it ’ s stocked with all different kinds of whiskey . It ’ s pretty manly ,” he laughs .
The couple is looking forward to the new Latitude Town Center opening . “ We saw drone footage and it looks beautiful ,” says Sharon . “ It can ’ t open fast enough ! It ’ s going to be a wonderful spot to spend a lot of our time .”
The beautiful white sand beaches of the Emerald Coast draw the McDonalds as much as ever . With the beach just a couple of minutes from Latitude Margaritaville , they frequently spend time with friends there . They also love the local music scene — as might be expected of those drawn to the community inspired by the escape to the islands music and lyrics of Jimmy Buffett .
“ This has been everything that we had hoped for and more ,” says Steve . “ The camaraderie of the people , friendships we ’ ve developed … everything .”
