d i e R & x e l A Alex Creamer is a musician based out of Binghamton, NY and has a group called, "Alex & Reid". They are currently touring their new al- bum "Shaking the Shelter" across the United States this summer. With no agent or manager, they booked over twenty-two shows in New York City, Philly, North Carolina, Nashville, Baton Rouge, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Olympia, Vancouver, Boise, Boulder, Kansas City, Pittsburgh and our very own city New Orleans. They have two shows in the crescent city, one at the Fair Gounds on July 10th and the other is at the Neutral Ground on July 11th. Music has always been in the fore- ground of Alex's life. Her mother teaches dance in her hometown of Montrose, PA. Therefore, since she can remember she has been influ- enced by classical ,Celtic, African, Motown and everything in be- tween. She made her first appear- ance on stage before she was even born! Her dad is a classic rock junkie too. As a child, she used to be in that back of her dad's pick up truck, listening to "Rambling Man" and "Roadhouse Blues". Years later on Valentines day, she performed at a nursing home (Crazy Little Thing Called Love) and also debuted her first original song. She and her mom passed by a local restaurant and asked if they would hire her for a show. Little did she know...they were looking for someone to perform that night and she found herself racing home to practice. She had just turned fifteen years old and that is when she re- alized that fell in love with making music. Ever since that moment, she knew her existence had something to do with music. In the last four years, she has written over thirty original songs, performed in several local bands, recorded two albums, and played in over 35 different venues. She has alo won several local con- tests, including the Tioga Downs Casino's "Rockokie" sing-off and EPAC Idol. She has also performed at the well known Harford Fair, Montrose Bluberry Festival, and the Ithaca Arts Festival. Her music reflects hers influences and her own originality. Folk, Blues and Rock reveal themselves in her music. Her overall goal is to make songs better than her last song and to leave the audience with some- thing more than what they came with. She is currently preparing to release her new album, which she will be touring with her partner, Reid Min- er. (Percussionist, Guitarist, Vocalist B and Poet) BRANDMII.ORG
