Louis Ramsahye 7/10 Mini Market and Casa Budha Louis was born in Pointe Piments, to a destitute family. “Life was difficult. So I used to buy fruits after school from the market and sell them to tourists at the beach. I was introduced to this business by a friend. I loved it, and I worked full time after finishing high school.’’ It is amazing how he spent two decades doing this, because, for many of us, it may be boring to spend a long time in one endeavour. “I love the connection I make with people from all over the world. I learn a lot from them. Through this, I have made friends and visited some of them several times in Germany and Switzerland.” It was in 2000 that he got the opportunity to scale up his enterprise. “I secured a place at Meridien Hotel. It was a jackpot because the location was the hub of tourists, who formed the core of my customer base. I employed a salesperson there and continued selling at the beach.Right now, I have two permanent employees, working in two branches.”
