with Africa’s most
populous nation
Trade among African economies is growing as neighbours on the continent
shy away from volatile overseas markets and foster intra-Africa ties, writes

Over the past five to 10 years there has been a noticeable increase in trade between South Africa and Nigeria
T
raditionally, most large African markets tended to trade
more with markets such as Europe, Asia and the US
than with one another.
According to the Department of Trade and Industry,
South Africa’s biggest export markets are the US,
Germany, Japan, Zimbabwe and China. The top five import source
countries are China, Germany, the US, Japan and India.
