Now mum and Mike are married, they’ re concentrating on their careers – Sharon now has a small workshop for her cushion business, and Mike is teaching PE at a different school. So Millie and Lauren see less of them. Dad and Amber have moved even further afield – to Spain, for dad’ s work, taking their new baby but leaving Fran and Jake in the care of their grandma, Amber’ s rather old-school mum Flora.
Lauren has a boyfriend, the over-eager Declan, and into this mix comes Leo – a distant teenage cousin of Mike’ s who’ s come to spend six months at the local football academy. Millie is still the Millie we know and love, but faces fresh challenges as she tries to bring the lessons she’ s learned from balancing two families into new and ever more complicated situations.
