Taylor is known for planting easter eggs
within music videos, lyrics, interviews, and
even her outfits. Despite it only being the
start of the Lover era, Taylor has made sure
to include a surplus of clues for fans to find
and decipher. This article will dive into the
clues that have been solved that gives hint
to what is to come in the Lover era.
“ME!” Music Video: Solved
“ME!” was the first single released during the
Lover era. Taylor announced that the video
was filled with clues about the upcoming
album. The first solved clue the name of TS7.
Within the background of the video, there was
a neon sign that read, “Lover”, which fans
quickly deciphered. Taylor announced that
these theories were correct in an Instagram
Live where she announced the album.
Another easter egg was found in the French
dialogue between Brendon and Taylor at the
beginning of the video.
Right before Taylor’s iconic “Je suis calme” line, Brendon says a line in French which
translates to, “You need to calm down”, which hints at the second single for the album,
“You Need To Calm Down.” Another hint at this second single lies in the background
music of the first scene. Taylor revealed in a recent interview with Vogue that the music
coming from the record player is playing an “old-timey, 1940s-sounding, instrumental
version” of the song. Also, within the beginning of the video, there is a Christmas tree
in the background of the video, winking at the lyric to the song
“Lover” which says, “we can leave the Christmas
lights up ‘till January.”
