Collaborating on climate
change
In association with the AMOS 2020 Conference in Fremantle
in February, the National Environmental Science Program
Earth Systems and Climate Change Hub convened a workshop
to bring together Traditional Owners and researchers to

Understanding weather
and climate in history
This issue we feature two articles that draw us into the
weather and climate of the 1800s as well as a special Charts
of the Past segment featuring a historic flooding event from
1916. The pieces paint a fascinating picture of the times and
highlight the importance of record keeping in our sciences for
analysis, reflection and comparison work performed by future
generations.
Seasonal snaps
The autumn edition of this section presents some exceptional
photographs from the past three months. The isolation as a
result of restrictions from COVID‐19 has led to some rather
impressive shots of vacant beaches and other landscapes
which would have usually been bustling with activity. Take a
look in this edition of seasonal snaps.
