Prof. Christian Jakob, the new AMOS chair of the Equity and Diversity Committee, organised for a photo to be taken of all of the women at the conference. It is fair to say that at least half, if not more, of the audience at AMOS were women—a fantastic achievement for our community. A chance to unwind Perfect weather and fantastic a Fremantle backdrop made for enjoyable networking and social activities. On the opening night of AMOS 2020, delegates had the opportunity of seeing a spectacular Indian Ocean sunset from the upstairs function room at Bathers Beach House. Some delegates even spotted dolphins frolicking close to the beach below. This was followed by the Fellows Dinner at Rydges Hotel. On Tuesday evening, the students and ECRs had a chance to network and unwind with some barefoot bowling at Melville Bowling Club. Many thanks to Rachel Law who shared some of her career experiences, and a very big thank you to CSIRO for sponsoring the very enjoyable event. Delegates boarded buses on Wednesday evening and headed to Frasers Restaurant in Kings Park. It was a beautiful evening and delegates took full advantage of the amazing view from the restaurant balcony of the Swan River and City of Perth. Thank you Many thanks to all our wonderful guest speakers. Thanks also to Sarah Perkins‐Kirkpatrick, Jenny Hopwood, Linden Ashcroft, and the AMOS Council for all their assistance with AMOS 2020. A special thanks to our event partners: CSIRO, Vaisala, Bureau of Meteorology, Pawsey Supercomputing Centre, ARC CLEX, NSW Planning, Industry and Environment, NCI, AMSI, SWAQ, AMS and the Perth Convention Bureau. AMOS 2020 would also not have been possible without the very hard work of Jeanette Dargavillle, Natasha Rice, Leanne Lee, Thomas Kavanagh and Melissa Lyne. And to all our AMOS member colleagues we thank you all for your generous support. Celebrating International Day of Women and Girls in Science! Source: Christian Jakob
