This issue of BAMOS is packed with announcements on award winners, promotions and the election of Fellows, plus the results of the annual Art Competition. In this edition, we feature the “Year in Review” from AMOS President, Andrew Marshall, a great recap of key events, engagements and publications that AMOS have led over the past 12 months. It has been a busy wrap to the year for Andrew as he also penned his last column as President for this issue, and what interesting, engaging, topical columns they have been. We also hear from superstar Linden Ashcroft about her first year in the Superstars of STEM program. It is great to be able to gain some insights into the program and what it means for those involved. As part of her paricipation in the Superstars of STEM program, Linden also had the opportunity to attend Science meets Parliament and teamed up with other AMOS members to provide an insightful summary of the event. The role of science in driving policy and government outcomes comes through clearly and the co-authors provide some practical take-home messages and links for BAMOS readers. To round out the issue, a team from the Bureau of Meteorology have published a summary of their survey into the impact of the Himawari-8 satellite on forecasting applications and operations. Read all about it in this issue. On behalf of the BAMOS Editorial team, we hope you enjoy this holiday reading pack and wish you all well this festive season.
