Highlights from Darwin
Fresh from AMOS-ICTMO, the news section in this issue is
dedicated to our annual get together. Read some initial
reflections from this year's event held in Darwin including a
short summary sharing highlights from the main event in the
AMOS calendar. Find out what the delegates got up to with
the numerous social activities on the program—it was a truly
tropical time.

Analysing changes in
the wind
With potential to cause significant impact, and with numerous
notable events occuring in recent years, Terry Hart and Graham
Mills look deeper into sudden wind change events in Port
Phillip, Victoria. Analysing data and identifying specific events,
the study aims to provide an explanation of the wind changes
and the weather conditions, which could help mariners better
prepare for these events.

A flood of weather
history
A major citizen science project which brought together the
Bureau of Meteorology, the State Library of South Australia
and members of the public led to the documentation of an
extended flood history for South Australia. Read all about it
and ongoing citizen science projects that have spun off from
it in this issue.

Seasonal snaps
The autumn edition of this section presents some stunning
photos: rainbows, sunsets and some fairly unusual cloud
formations. We also received some great images from cruising
altitude mid-flight. We look forward to seeing what the
weather brings to you this winter/dry season—share your
snaps with BAMOS to make the next issue!
