AMOS 30th Anniversary Celebration
The 30th Anniversary Report of the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of AMOS a 48-page
report was produced documenting the operations and
achievements of the society over its lifespan. The following
article on the transition to AMOS from the Australian Branch
of the Royal Meteorological Society, which was established in
1973, is taken from the 30th Anniversary Report. The anniversary
report is a major document that provides an important record
of the history of AMOS.
It was produced by a large number of society members
including Peter Baines, Vaughan Barras, Liz Bentley (RMetS),
Galina Brejneva (Bureau library) Michael Coughlan, Jeanette
Dargaville, Clem Davis, Stephanie Downes, Melissa Hart, Paul
Holper, Val Jemmeson, Todd Lane, Merv Lynch, Neville Nicholls,
Julia Philips (Bureau library), Ian Smith, Mary Voice, Beth Walton,
Mark Williams, Rob Willis, John Zillman, and every Regional
Centre Chair.
The report (pictured below) is available on the AMOS website.
