BAMOS Sept 2017 News Melbourne Centre trivia night Andrew King and Sonya Fiddes Melbourne Centre The AMOS Melbourne Centre hosted its third annual trivia night on 26 June at The University of Melbourne. Once again the event was a great success with participants coming up from the Bureau of Meteorology, Monash University and CSIRO to take part in a very fun, yet challenging quiz. We also had many geology students from Melbourne University joining in the fun and we are grateful to the University’s Earth Sciences Postgraduate Group (ESPG) for co-hosting the event. We had around 40 people take part in the trivia with a group from the Australian-German Energy College winning this year. Stephanie Jacobs and Rob Ryan did a great job of preparing the quiz and we thank them for putting so much effort into coming up with a great range of questions. We look forward to hosting another trivia night again next year! A full house at the Melbourne Centre trivia night. In addition to this new report, the editors of the journal Weather have produced a special AMOS 30th Anniversary Virtual Issue, which is free to read for a short time. Photos from the event can also be viewed/downloaded from the events archive on our website. 7
