From 30 January to 1 February, Balwin Properties’ Munyaka Estate proudly hosted an exceptional Open Water Masterclass led by double Olympic Gold Medallist and four-time World Champion, Sharon van Rouwendaal.
Set against Munyaka’ s iconic crystal-clear lagoon, the estate provided a world-class backdrop for three days of elite open water coaching and inspiration. Munyaka Estate was selected as one of the exclusive venues for her nationwide Masterclass Series, hosted by the aQuellé Midmar Mile.
Swimmers from across South Africa gathered at the Balwin Properties lifestyle estate to learn directly from one of the most respected open water swimmers and educators in the world.
Sharon’ s visit to South Africa forms part of her return to the country after her Olympic gold medal victory at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. engaging coaching style, making the sessions both educational and highly motivating. The clinic fostered a strong sense of community, connection, and shared passion for open water swimming.
Following the Munyaka clinic, Sharon travelled to Pietermaritzburg, where she hosted an additional Open Water Masterclass before attending the iconic aQuellé Midmar Mile event in her role as an ambassador- further strengthening her long-standing relationship with South African swimming and the Midmar Mile community.
