Get Ready To Run !

NUMBER COLLECTION
Collect your race number from the race number collection venues listed below . Please be sure to bring the race number confirmation e-mail with you to Number Collection .
• Friday 9 February , from 10h00 – 18h00 Jeppe Quondam ( 79 Boeing Rd East , Bedfordview )
• Saturday 10 February , from 09h00 – 17h00 Saheti School ( corner Civin Dr and Linksfield Dr , Senderwood )
Collecting for Others : Entrants will be able to collect race numbers for fellow runners provided they bring a copy of the fellow runner ’ s race number confirmation e-mail and ID .
No substitutions will be available .
Temporary Licences ( 10km , 21km & 42km only ) Runners who are not registered with a club and running province must have purchased a temporary licence , costing R60 ( 10km ) R70 ( 21km ) or R200 ( 42km ). A temporary license means those runners are now eligible for insurance from ASA for the duration of the race only . This means it is vital to complete the tear-off strip on the number and this must be deposited into the collection boxes at the end of the race , before you leave the finish tent . Runners failing to complete the slip or deposit it in the collection box will not be covered by the insurance .

Here ’ s all the important information you need ahead of running the Balwin Sport Jeppe Marathon , Half Marathon , 10km race and George Bizos 5km Fun Run on 11 February .
CGA CHAMPS
The 2024 Central Gauteng Athletics Marathon Champs will be held at the Balwin Sport Jeppe Marathon . Marathon champs are mandatory for athletes who want to be considered for selection to the CGA team for SA marathon Champs later this year .
Gold , Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded in each category for men and women from Senior , 40 +, 50 +, 60 +
Qualifying times – Men : Senior 2h30 | 40 + 2h40 | 50 + 2h50 | 60 + 3h00 Ladies : Senior 3h00 | 40 + 3h20 | 50 + 3h30 | 60 + 3h55
THE START
• The 10km , 21km and 42km line up from 05h15 underneath the start banner in Civin Drive , and the gun will go off at 06h00 sharp . Remember that the 21km runners will complete one lap of the course , while 42km runners will complete two laps . The 10km split is at 2.5km
• The George Bizos 5km fun runners must line up along the service road of Civin Drive , and their event starts at 06h30 .
PARKING NOTES
Free parking will be available on race day in designated parking areas , which are clearly marked on the venue map on page 12 . You must arrive early to avoid delays . The parking areas open at 04h00 , and please listen to the instructions from parking marshals , SARZA ( Search and Rescue South Africa ) and the EMPD , who will be on hand to help with traffic management and make your parking experience smooth and incident-free . If a parking area is full , you will be directed to the next available parking area .
Please note that all parking is at own risk .
WATER POINTS
There are seven water points along the 21km route , all fully stocked with water , Coca-Cola and ice . There are also portaloos at each point . These water points then double up for the 42km runners on their second lap . Meanwhile , there are three water points on the 10km , and two on the 5km .
Stash Your Trash ! Please make sure you throw your left-over cups or water sachets into the bins provided at the water points .
