Message from the Race Director
Dear Runners
The past three years have been very tough for Jeppe Athletics , first COVD and then the lack of a sponsor saw us having to take a break from hosting the race that so many have come to love .
Balwin Sport have however come on board for 2024 as the title sponsors , we are now the first race in the Balwin Sport Marathon Series . The Jeppe Marathon , Peninsula Marathon , Phobians Marathon and the Dolphin Coast Marathon . These are all long standing iconic races that all promise to bring the runner top quality events and value for money .
Unfortunately the CGA race calendar has become quiet congested and there are almost too many options at varying price categories to choose from . We understand that with the poor economy runners are being forced to be more selective with where they spend there hard earned rands and cents and therefore thank you for choosing the Balwin Sport Jeppe Marathon as one of those events .
We hope that you enjoy your experience with us and all the value add that we have tried to add . Please go and tell your friends who didn ’ t enter this year about your experience and that we hope to see them next year where we will be hoping to offer an even better event .

Message from Balwin Sport
As the new title sponsor of the Jeppe , Cape Peninsula , Phobians Pretoria and Dolphin Coast marathons , we can ’ t wait for the season to start ! All these marathons are Comrades qualifiers , with the first three races being Two Oceans qualifiers .
The vision of Balwin Sport is to promote a healthier lifestyle among clients , staff , and all South Africans . To achieve this , we will invest several million Rand annually for the next 10 years in South African road running and other sports , with benefits flowing down from club level into supporting underprivileged and development runners .
In celebration of the inaugural Balwin Sport Marathon Series , runners / walkers over any of the title event distances ( 5km , 10km , 21.1km , or 42.2km ) can qualify to win a fully furnished Balwin apartment valued at R800 000 when they visit one of our show apartments at any time after completing their chosen races ! Participants can also boost their chances of winning by visiting the various developments countrywide more often until the end of August 2024 .
In addition to the grand prize , the first 4 000 entries in each of the races will receive a quality goody bag and T-shirt as part of their entry . There are also finishers medals and free digital race photos for all participants .
It has been a great privilege to work with a fantastic team of Race Directors across these events . Their dedication and that of their committees and club members ensure that the Balwin Sport Marathon Series adds maximum value to runners from around the country . The support from the Balwin Family has also been astounding !
We look forward to meeting new friends and seeing our colleagues out there , continuing on their journeys to maintain and improve their health and enjoyment of exercise with their families and co-workers .

Thanks to Balwin we are able to offer every runner free digital photos from Action Photo , a finishers medal and official time . All entrants in the 42km , 21km and 10km will also receive a race T-Shirt . All entrants stand a chance to win a Balwin apartment worth R 800,000.00 .
The Jeppe Quondam Club was founded in 1907 and the Athletics Section in 1978 . The Jeppe Quondam Club has been a prominent landmark in Bedfordview since 1939 . Keep a look out at the 2km mark for the club on your left hand side . With this great history and tradition our club we will continue to offer a premier race on the Central Gauteng road running calendar for many years to come thanks to our new sponsor Balwin Sport . I would also like to thank each and everyone of the Jeppe members who give their time in the build up and preparation for this event as well as on the day .
