THE FINISH
Once you are over the finish line, you will receive your commemorative medal. You will also receive cold water and Coke. The finish venue is at the Simon’ s Town Naval Base, where you are welcome to put up club gazebos on the Saturday before the race, but note that space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be public vendors with food and cool drinks on sale, so bring some cash and have some lunch while watching your teammates finish!
MEDICAL MATTERS
Medi-Response is our medical support provider and will provide roving ambulances and a medical tent at the finish venue. If you feel ill at the finish, you should visit the medics for a quick check-up.
Note: Do not run if you are feeling ill or have the flu. Please consult your doctor before participating in our event if you have any pre-existing conditions.
OFFICIAL CHARITIES
DE HEIDE CHILDREN’ S SPECIAL CARE CENTRE De Heide Children’ s Special Care Centre is a project of the Western Cape Cerebral Palsy Association. Located in Claremont, the NGO provides specialised day care and support for children and youth under 21 with profound disabilities, including cerebral palsy. Despite a proud legacy spanning over 40 years, De Heide continues to face daily challenges in delivering quality care to a deeply vulnerable and oftenoverlooked community. Maintaining essential services such as transport and therapeutic support requires ongoing effort and resources, especially in the face of rising costs and limited funding. Your donation will help cover critical needs like therapy equipment, nutritious meals, and the salaries of specialist caregivers, thus ensuring these children continue to receive the care they deserve.
BALWIN FOUNDATION The Balwin Foundation has long been committed to forging a brighter future for underserved communities, focusing on the transformation of one life at a time. Through focused initiatives in education, sports development, and socio-economic support, the Balwin Foundation aim to create lasting impact and opportunities that empower individuals and inspire positive change.
