As we count down to the Balwin Run Series Peninsula’ s race day on Sunday 15 February, I would like to take a moment, on behalf of the team, to thank everyone who has played a role in bringing this event to life. First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors and partners. Your belief in this event and your continued support make it possible for us to deliver a safe, well-organised, and memorable race experience for thousands of runners each year. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to road running in Cape Town.
To our race committee, thank you for the months of planning, problemsolving, and dedication behind the scenes. Events of this scale simply do not happen without a team willing to give their time, expertise, and energy long before the first runner crosses the start line.
To our volunteers, ambassadors, and marshals, you are the backbone of this race. From early-morning setup to guiding runners on course, managing water points, and offering encouragement when it’ s needed most, your contribution is invaluable. We cannot thank you enough for your generosity and enthusiasm.
To our runners, whether you’ re taking on the full marathon or the half marathon, we wish you the very best of luck. We hope you enjoy the challenge, the scenery, and the unique spirit of the Balwin Run Series Peninsula. Run smart, look after one another, and take pride in every step you take on race day.
A gentle reminder to all participants to use public transport where possible and plan your travel to the start and from the finish in advance. This helps ease congestion and ensures a smoother experience for everyone involved.
