OPENING THIS SUMMER
Harbor Wetland National Aquarium
While today ’ s Inner Harbor is a picturesque waterfront neighborhood filled with restaurants , hotels and attractions , hundreds of years ago the land consisted of a tidal salt marsh surrounded by forests . The Aquarium ’ s groundbreaking free Harbor Wetland reintroduces the saltmarsh ecosystem to Baltimore through floating wetlands , thus advancing city-wide efforts to purify our waters and attract native species like blue crabs , oysters and herons .
