Featuring works across mediums , time periods , cultures and aesthetics , this collection is defined not so much by the art itself but by who selected it . BMA curators collaborated with 17 members of the security department to create a one-of-a-kind installation that showcases the BMA ’ s beloved pieces from the viewpoints of those who protect them every day .

Travel back in time with immersive installations that shed light on the art form ’ s impact on food , fashion , travel and more while paying homage to the hands that crafted it .

Blacklist : The Hollywood Red Scare

Using eye-opening testimonies from Hollywood ’ s “ red scare ” era of the late 1940s , this moving , multisensory exhibit invites you to consider what it meant , and still means , to be an American . As the freedoms of speech , press and assembly resurface as rights in need of protection , Blacklist provides a look back at another era in which free artistic expression was threatened .
Underground Railroad : Freedom Seekers on the B & O
B & O Railroad Museum

In 2021 , the National Park Service added the B & O to the Underground Railroad Network of Freedom in recognition of the role it played in helping freedom-seekers escape to the north . This new exhibit explores the harrowing and resilient stories of those freedom-seekers who passed through the museum site , as well as the relationship between Baltimore ’ s railroad network and the Underground Railroad . As the country continues to reckon with its legacy of racial injustice , this exhibit aims to reintroduce long-ignored histories to locals and visitors alike .
You – The Inside Story

Fans of the board game Operation will love this 12,000-square-foot exhibit , which consists of 35 interactive kiosks and play spaces designed to teach us more about how our bodies perceive and interact with the world around us . You ’ ll be put through tests that reveal how your body is calibrated , and encouraged to ponder the body ’ s capabilities , limitations and possibilities .
