One of four city Arts & Entertainment Districts, Hamilton-Lauraville has several shops that double as art galleries and maker studios. Found Studio sells locally made goods and showcases area artists, Domesticity sells fabrics and offers sewing classes for all levels, and House Handcrafted sells oddities, provides studio space to creatives and hosts craft workshops with salvaged materials.

In this arts district, you’ ll find several bars that offer more than just drinks. Play board games at No Land Beyond, learn to Lindy Hop at Mobtown Ballroom, attend an open mic at Motor House or dance under a disco ball at Royal Blue. For a daytime hang, check out viral streetwear brand Carpet Company’ s flagship store on North Avenue and its adjacent coffee shop, Carpet Cafe by Good Neighbor. Or head to Hooper House. The sprawling 1800s property is home to several Black-owned businesses, including Aye Gallery, BondHaus + Prose, Jazz Camp and Mama Koko’ s, a hybrid cafe and cocktail bar inspired by the African diaspora.
WAVERLY
Once a toll road for Pennsylvania farmers, Waverly is now a bustling shopping and entertainment district. Begin at Red Emma’ s, a workerowned cafe that doubles as a radical bookstore. Scan the shelves of queer fiction, political studies, activist memoirs and more before settling in with a meal from the 100 % vegan menu. Later in the day, walk over to Peabody Heights Brewery— site of the original Oriole Park— and head inside to The Dugout, a retro-inspired arcade bar with more than 45 games.
