Robinson starts their day at The Bun Shop in Mount Vernon for a Thai iced tea. At lunchtime, she heads to Ekiben( with locations in Fell’ s Point, Hampden and South Baltimore) for a spicy walnut shrimp bowl. Afterward, Robinson makes their way to Red Emma’ s Bookstore & Coffeehouse in Waverly, which has“ a remarkable bookstore collection that will tempt you to spend hundreds,” she says.
Depending on the night of the week, Robinson also hits up an open mic night. If it’ s the fourth Tuesday of the month, she’ ll head to Charm City Slam at Baltimore Unity Hall.“ It’ s definitely one of the most exciting places to go to see poetry in the city— if not the country,” she says. Motor House in Station North is also a prime spot for visual art and comedy— and on the first Thursday of the month, Robinson leads The Lighthouse Writer’ s Workshop, for all ages and skill levels.
For accommodations, Robinson likes Hotel Revival in Mount Vernon, where guests can purchase locally made goods in the lobby, sip on cocktails and mocktails in the B-Side speakeasy, and feast on elevated brunch classics at the hotel’ s rooftop restaurant Topside.
