Step Up – This cult-favorite dance movie series starring Channing Tatum was shot all around Baltimore , including the frozen yogurt shop Cup Love in neighboring Canton and the Recreation Pier ( which was also the setting of the old detective show Homicide ).
Sleepless in Seattle – This neighborhood made an appearance as the location of Annie ’ s home .

Established in 1763 , Fell ’ s Point is one of Baltimore ’ s oldest and most charming neighborhoods and has served as the home to abolitionist Frederick Douglass and jazz legend Billie Holiday . It ’ s a great place to stroll the Belgian block streets and admire the historic buildings , 161 of which are on the National Register . The Social Network – Everyone knows that technology giant Mark Zuckerberg birthed Facebook at Harvard — but in the movie adapted from Ben Mezrich ’ s 2009 book The Accidental Billionaires , Johns Hopkins University ’ s Homewood campus stands in for the Ivy League school . The Harvard dorm setting was filmed in JHU ’ s Latrobe Hall .
Veep & House of Cards – Several smaller scenes from other Baltimore-based filming projects happened on the JHU campus , including a Veep appearance at a frozen yogurt shop shot at the nowclosed Dominion Ice Cream . House of Cards filmed at the JHU-adjacent Baltimore Museum of Art , while other buildings on campus stood in for Frank Underwood ’ s alma mater , The Sentinel .
