The Braves are starting the 2020-2021 school year under unusual circumstances due to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in the Spring of the preceding school term , which brought an extra precautionary layer to contact sports . But through it all , there have been some tremendous successes for the Baldwin High School athletics program . Fall sports has begun with modifications to the schedule for safety reasons . In an effort to maintain safety for our student-athletes , the Baldwin High School Athletic Department announced that football , softball , and volleyball teams will play region / area-only schedules

this fall due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic . The Baldwin cross country team ’ s schedule will remaine intact . Cross country allows for more opportunities to social distance , and there is no ball hit back and forth between competing teams . Softball and volleyball are well into their seasons and football started October 9 .
The student-athletes level of talent and the amazing coaching staff leading the Baldwin County School District ’ s teams has definitely not gone unnoticed . Incredible athletic opportunities have opened up for our Braves and Bravettes .

Waller and Dasia Harden signed with great schools ! Mikayla signed with Grays Harbor College in Aberdeen , WA and Dasia signed with Denmark Technical College Denmark , SC . Baldwin High School ’ s Javon Bullard announced that he gave the Georgia Bulldogs his silent commitment . Bullard makes Georgia ’ s 13th verbal commitment of the 2021 class , choosing the school over Tennessee and South Carolina .
Bullard , ranked among the top 100 players in the peach state , received over 20 offers from some of the top D1 schools in the country . He chose UGA from a top 7 , including Louisville , NC State , Pitt , South Carolina , Tennessee ,

and West Virginia . The 6-foot , 183-pound three-star cornerback , becomes the second defensive back of the class for the Bulldogs .
Baldwin head coach Jesse Hicks said that Javon is the ultimate example of a true student-athlete . “ If I could put a picture in the dictionary for the word student-athlete , it would be a picture of Bullard . He pretty much runs the gamut . He ’ s what you want in a teammate . He ’ s what you want in a son . He ’ s what you want as a student-athlete . He ’ s what you want in a person .”
