“ At the beginning of the 2018- 2019 school year , Lakeview Primary began preparing to expand the Montessori program from the Early Learning Center to the primary school setting . In August of 2019 , we started the school year with two classes

of Kindergarten / First Grade mixed-age Montessori classes . They served approximately 40 students between the two classes . This year , we ’ ve expanded to three classes ,” said Lakeview Primary Principal Tracy Clark .

In the 2020-2021 school term , the primary school has expanded its Montessori classes , giving them the opportunity to serve approximately 60 students between the three classrooms .

“ As soon as we got word on the expansion , we immediately

began to prepare for this additional class . The first year of the Montessori program was successful at Lakeview Primary and brought about a new awareness of the world of Montessori education . We were super excited to know that the next school year , they would be adding another Montessori classroom to the school ,” Clark said .

In August of 2020 , Lakeview Primary began the school year with one Kindergarten Montessori class and two First Grade /

Second Grade mixed-age classrooms .

According to Clark , the sky ’ s the limit , and she is looking forward to even more expansion of the program in the coming years ahead . “ Lakeview Primary is so thrilled to have expanded its Montessori program , we are looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the Montessori program at our school for many years . It gives us so much more opportunity to serve our students and our families .”
