Having gained some exposure through pageantry, Shontonia’s vision for pageantry for herself is simple: to go as far as she possibly can, to help put Barbados on the map, because she’s not only representing herself or family and friends but an entire country's name which she wears proudly upon her sash. Q&A with Shontonia Hall: Q: What are your greatest achievements in terms of your competition? A: My greatest achievement thus far was going to Germany last December for the Miss Intercontinental pageant to go up against sixty other girls and winning the Miss Intercontinental Congeniality which is an award the contestants vote on for the friendliest girl. Q: As a contestant, what would you say are your greatest challenges? A: I'm just too short. I'm not one to get intimidated by others but being amongst such tall ladies is my biggest challenge. Then it's not getting to eat what I want because I have to keep in shape. Lastly, being very careful how I carry myself, places I go and people I'm surrounded by because I have an image to uphold .
