Al Rasheed Street can be divided into five distinct main zones , mainly resulted due to the construction of bridges from 1939 to the present . These zones are :
• Midan Zone from the old Bab Al Muadham gate to Midan Square with a large open street scape and the most dominant feature of Midan Mosque and the former Ministry of Transportation
• Haider Khana Zone from Midan Square to Al Risafi Square , which is the oldest area in Rasheed and dominated by Haider Khana Mosque .
• Suq Zone from Risafi Square to Hafith Al Qadhi Square , which comprises the famous coppersmith Suq Al Safarin , the Shorja Market , Al Merjan Mosque , the financial district with The Central Bank of Iraq and Abdul Karim Qasim Square .
• Muraba Zone from Al Qadhi Square / Al Ahrar Bridge to Al Sinek Bridge with the landmarks Sayid Sultan Ali Mosque ( AD 1682 ), Al Zawraa Cinema , the eleven storeys Communication Tower , Muntada Al Masrah and the Institute for Music Study which is located in the ex-British Residency built in 1905 .
• Sinek Zone from Al Sinek Bridge to al Jumhuriya Bridge with Shanashil buildings that house e . g . Abdul Kareem Qassim Museum and the Iraqi Artist Syndicate .
