you might only need a few piec-
es on hand at any given time.
This is not the case for craft
shows, particularly if you want
to participate in multiple shows
over a given time period. You
need enough inventory to offer
shoppers plenty of options, and
enough so that you don’t run
out! Plus, if you build your stock
before your first craft show, you’ll
save yourself some stress be-
tween shows. You might have to
replenish some of your stock, but
you won’t have to run yourself
ragged.
You’ll also need that time to plan
and prepare your space. Showing
up and just tossing your wares
on a table is not going to cut it.
Shoppers will walk right by with-
out sparing you a second glance.
If you don’t care enough to pre-
pare your space properly, what
are they going to think about
your products? You don’t have
to break the bank, but there are
a couple necessities you should
invest in. First, tables. Lots of
shows rent them, but if that’s
not an option, you need to have
a couple of hand. Second, table
covers. Don’t leave your tables
bare! Using table covers instantly
cleans up the appearance of your
space and makes it more invit-
ing. If you don’t do anything else,
at least take this step.

Use the time remaining between
sign-up and show wisely. If you
are visiting craft stores, be sure
to wander through their home
and decor aisles. If you’re clean-
ing out your garage, see if there
is anything you can repurpose as
display. Thrift stores are always
a good bet to find inexpensive
items you can use.
