fast, run errands, or “watch this mom”. We have a
closed door policy in our house. If the door to my
workspace is closed I’m working and I shouldn’t
be interrupted. If someone has to come in for some
reason they must do so quietly and respect that
fact that I’m in a work environment.
Family boundaries aren’t the only boundaries you
need to set. You’ll need to set boundaries for yourself too. It’s easy to feel like you always have time
to do one more thing because you don’t physically
leave the office at the end of the day. Set a time
each day to stop working and do it!.
to recharge.
For many, Working from home is an exciting
dream come true, but if you don’t practice work
from home self-care, it will quickly lose its shine.

Get Out
When you work fr om home it’s not hard to get so
comfortable you don’t want to leave. You can go
directly from working to relaxing in your reading
chair in less than 2 seconds. Some days that’s great
and necessary but most days you need to get out
of the house if you’re going to keep your sanity.
Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood at
lunchtime or a trip to your local park after work
just get outside!
Socialize
Now that you work from home, there is no option
of drifting down the hall to “Suzy co-worker’s”
office for a quick chat about your weekend. There
are no lunch breaks with your favorite co-workers
or mid-morning breaks for coffee refills and chitchat in the break room. After a while, you’ll start to
miss that day-to day-interaction. To lessen loneliness, make sure you’re scheduling regular get-togethers with friends and family members.
Schedule Vacation Time
People tend to neglect vacation time and days off
when they work from home. Some people don’t feel
like they deserve the time off, while others feel like
taking time off isn’t really necessary if you don’t
go to an office. Neither of those things is a good
enough reason to skip taking time off. Even when
you work from home, you need time to recharge.
Taking time off to do things you love is a great way
