We like to look at it this way: if you want a cup of
water, you have to start with an empty cup, right?
You can’t go to the sink with a cup full of old water
and expect to fill it with fresh water. You have to
dump it out first! Shifting is like dumping out old
water to replace it with new water. Dump out the
old so that there is room for the new.
Thought replacement is only the beginning.
Vision Boards + How They Assist
in Shifting
Before I became acquainted with the concept of
how your surroundings really affect your progress,
I had bills taped to my wall. The thought was that
they would be removed as I paid each one off, but
instead of feeling a sense of drive and encouragement, I felt downtrodden. So many bills; so much
debt. No time. No money. These things kept circulating in my head every time I would enter my
office area.
I read an article one early morning before anybody else had awakened for the day and it blew
my mind. It said something along the lines of: “Just
like you are what you eat, you ARE what you SEE.”
Hence, when I caught sight of the bills and the
debt, they would fill my brain and leave no room
for abundance.
The freedom I felt was immensely spectacular. My
shoulders were lighter and I immediately began
noticing a flow of cash from unexpected sources. I
booked three clients in a week and couldn’t believe
the sudden demand for my services as a virtual
assistant. What happened?!
What exactly HAD happened? I had shifted my
mind and I had shifted my circumstances and surroundings with simple, seemingly obvious changes
that totally renewed how I felt about money.
Not only was I receiving more income, I was able
to spend MORE time in the Facebook groups and
in the Coaching Club because I wasn’t so stressed
about paying the bills! My definition of success was
well on its way to being realized, and it was all due
to my mindset shift.
About the Author
I removed the bills from my wall and instantly felt a
sense of freedom. No, I did NOT ignore them. They
went into a file folder in my office instead of on the
wall, and once a week, I pull them out to check the
books and make sure I’m on track to pay them off.
However, instead of being in my face and hanging
there as a constant reminder of what a failure I am,
I allowed myself SPACE to accept new things, like
money, into my life!
In addition to removing the bills, I started saving
pictures of things I wanted and I wrote - on my
wall - exactly what I expected by October 1st. It
was my version of a “vision board” and I’ve already
achieved almost everything I wrote down.
