How to Survive that Long-Haul Flight like a Pro Traveler by Zachary Leo You did it! You have been saving up for months and you have finally saved enough and booked a ticket to a destination that you have always wanted to visit! Your first time traveling overseas to a new country. Flight time: 13 hours. Whoa whoa whoa, wait what? 13 HOURS!?!? 13 hours and you have a middle economy seat in the back of the plane. How did this happen and how are you going to survive this? You start to panic. How are you going to survive this flight? Hey, don’t worry. I am here to tell you that it will all be okay. Promise. Relax, and follow these steps. BEFORE THE FLIGHT About 24-12 hours before your flight you’re going to want to log back on to the airlines website and see about upgrading. In this period of time before departure, airlines will grow desperate to sell any remaining upper class seating and they will fill this seats for cheap! It is always a good idea to check. Paying even as much as $150 for an upgraded seat will be completely worth it. Especially since most first class cabins offer lay flat seats and as much free food as you can consume! BADASS TIP: If there are seats available for upgrade, the airline is going to let you know about them, BUT, the closer you get to the aircraft, the more expensive the upgrade will be. So do your wallet a favor and check the day prior to yo
