My business ended up feeling
stifling and wrong and “off” until
I listened to what was screaming
at me. purpose, or at least not living it
completely.
Until I clarified my actual purpose
further. Passion and purpose can totally
be connected. I’m now expressing
my purpose through my business
(among other ways) and my busi-
ness includes my
passions.
Until I transformed my business to
express my purpose directly.
And until I realized that I un-
knowingly believed a myth about
life purpose. What’s fucked up
is that I didn’t even realize that
there was a myth that I unknow-
ingly believed.
Because it’s such a common
teaching.
The main myth I believed was that
my passion was my purpose.
Totally common, right?
But my passion wasn’t my pur-
pose.
It was my passion.
By focusing on my passion, I
was accidentally ignoring my life
Maybe this is true for you, too.
But they’re different things.
Your passion might be gardening
or cooking or fitness. It doesn’t
mean your purpose is about any of
those things. In fact, your purpose
could be something completely
unrelated. Like being a spiritual
teacher.
What’s interesting is that you
could even express your purpose
when you’re doing something you
aren’t passionate about.
Weird, right?
Maybe you’re not at all passionate
about public speaking (like me).
But your purpose is about being a
spiritual teacher in the spotlight
(like me).
So you speak (and you come to
love it . . . like me).
Maybe, though, your passion is
helping people and your purpose
is about being a healer. Totally
connected . . . but still different
things.
There could be many scenarios.
The point is that if you’ve come to
know your purpose by discovering
your passions, or if you’ve built a
business based on a passion alone,
you may be accidentally ignoring
your true life purpose, or not living
it completely.
Like I did.
